Immune support with Herbalism
Hello everyone. I wanted to give you some ideas for immune health as the weather changing. Here are a couple recipes for you. And remember, you can book an herbal consult to have me troubleshoot with you in person or over the phone with any imbalances.
two teaspoons astragalus root
1 small slide of reishi mushroom
1 1/4 cup water.
Decoct, boil, then bring to a simmer for about 30 minutes to 40. Then, let it sit for ie. an hour or so before drinking. This one helps with disease and stress resistance along with immune love, and correlates to tonic herbs in chinese and ayurvedic medicine. This is Great with long term use. Drink up to 2 times per day. So the above amount is for one serving, you will need to double it for two cups.
1-3 teaspoons turmeric root grated
1 cup water
simmer for 30-40 minutes and then let it steep for an hour or so before drinking. Jiang huang, turmeric, has many health benefits. Feel free to add some ginger, pepper, cinnamon and make it more like a strong chai for variety. You can heat it gently with some ghee, milk, honey. Another couple you can sprinkle in after turmeric decotion is done for chai is nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom.
Immune building herbs can also be added to soup stocks like astragalus, reishi, turmeric. It's always amazing when you can add herbal medicine to your diet.
to your health,
