Buddhism and the causes of Suffering
Buddhism and Traditional Thai Medicine, TTM, understand ultimately suffering is caused by desires and kleshas (thought and emotion patterns). Negative states that cause suffering / three poisons are: Attachment, Aversion, and Ignorance.
Attachments always give us wanting and clinging to a person, state of being, and is the poison of the Wind element.
Aversion is the poison the embodies hatred and aggression and or resentment, and is the poison of the Fire element.
Ignorance is the poison of illusion in the world and is the poison of the Water element.
TTM, Vedic Thai Yoga, Meditation, and other forms of Yoga Therapy (ie.hatha, raja yoga, bhakti yoga, karma yoga) Help us all face the albeit desires and thought / emotion patterns, and clarify our mind/body/heart connection.
May I be peaceful happy and well;
May my friends and family be peaceful and happy and well;
May those who are suffering in this world be peaceful and happy and well;
May those who cause suffering in this world be peaceful and happy and well;
May all beings throughout the universes, and in realms known and unknown,
be peaceful and happy and well.
